Hard Fought Wins in last 2 Weeks
The team has hung strong against both Sumner and Shirley (last week) to take victories in their last two games. Sumner (a fortnight ago) were always going to be difficult customers in their first Div 1 season with plenty to prove. Burnside created multiple opportunities and finished enough of them to take the win.

Against Shirley it was a case of territory and pressure in difficult conditions. Burnside dominated both those departments in the 2nd spell and that proved the difference between the sides. The score did not really indicate Burnside's advantage as they vastly improved set piece possession and used it with some solid tactical kicking. Whilst Shirley remained within striking distance Burnside did enough to take the points.

One that got away against New Brighton
A match Burnside should have won against the top and still unbeaten competition side. Burnside led 18-10 with approx 15 minutes to play. Brighton called on some big guns to save them and combined perhaps with a lack of Burnside experience and composure, Brighton managed to score 2 tries from turn overs and steal the show.
